How To Join/Renew

Beginners
If you are new to archery, then you will need to complete a beginners’ course before you can join Rivernook Bowmen.

Beginners’ Course at Rivernook
Your beginners’ course can be at Rivernook – in which case on completion of the course there will be no need for further assessment before you can apply to join the club.

Beginners’ Course Elsewhere
If you have recently completed a beginners’ course elsewhere you will be asked to provide documentary evidence that you successfully completed the course and we will ask you to come and shoot with us as our guest prior to joining us. We’d like you to feel comfortable with us, the range and our facilities. We’d also like to meet you and see how you shoot. To arrange a visit please contact the club secretary or club president.

Experienced Archers
If you are, or have previously been, a member of another club or have otherwise gained experience in target archery, then we will ask you to come and shoot with us as our guest prior to joining us. We’d like you to feel comfortable with us, the range and our facilities. We’d also like to meet you and see how you shoot. To arrange a visit please contact the club secretary or club president.

Joining The Club
If, having met us and seen the facilities you would like to become a member of Rivernook Bowmen the next step is to complete the Membership Application form and send it to the membership secretary. All Memberships are subject to Committee approval (this is usually a formality).

Membership Application Form
The Membership Application form is available here: Membership Form

Renewing Club Membership
Renewal details will be sent out to members by the Membership Secretary each year when renewals are due. If you have any queries, email membership@rivernookbowmen.co.uk.

Archery GB (AGB) Membership
All shooting members of Rivernook Bowmen are required, for insurance purposes, to be members of Archery GB and to comply with the AGB Rules of shooting.

When you join Rivernook Bowmen you will also need to join Archery GB. You need to arrange this yourself, via the Archery GB website and pay the appropriate fee to Archery GB. Select Rivernook Bowmen (Surrey 1339) as your Primary Club (or add us as your additional club if you are joining us as an associate member). The County is Surrey AA.

As a Surrey Club, Rivernook Bowmen are affiliated via AGB to the County of Surrey Archery Association and to the Southern Counties Archery Society Region. County and Region fees are collected by the club for onward payment to the county and region.
