How To Join/Renew

Beginners
If you are new to archery, then your first step is to complete a beginners’ course.

Beginners’ Courses at Rivernook
Your beginners’ course can be at Rivernook. On completion there will be no need for any further assessment before you join the club. See How to Get Started for more information.

Beginners’ Courses Elsewhere
If you have recently completed a beginners’ course elsewhere, you will be asked to provide documentary evidence of your successfully completed course. We will then ask you to come and shoot with us, as our guest, prior to applying to join. We’d like you to feel comfortable with us, the range and our facilities. We’d also like to meet you and see how you shoot. To arrange a visit please contact us.

Experienced Archers
If you are, or have previously been, a member of another club or have otherwise gained experience in target archery, we will ask you to come and shoot with us as our guest prior to joining. We’d like you to feel comfortable with us, the range and our facilities. We’d also like to meet you and see how you shoot. To arrange a visit please contact the club.

Joining The Club
Having met us and seen the facilities, if you would like to become a member of Rivernook Bowmen the next step is to complete the Membership Application form . Once filled out, please email it to the membership secretary and pay the appropriate membership fee (details are on the form). All membership requests are subject to Committee approval (this is usually a formality).

Archery GB (AGB) Membership
All shooting members of Rivernook Bowmen are required, for insurance purposes, to be members of Archery GB and to comply with the AGB Rules of shooting. You need to arrange this yourself, via the Archery GB website and pay the appropriate fee.

Select Rivernook Bowmen (Surrey 1339) as your Primary Club (or add us as your additional club if joining as an associate member). The County is Surrey AA.

As a Surrey Club, Rivernook Bowmen are affiliated via AGB to the County of Surrey Archery Association and to the Southern Counties Archery Society Region (SCAS). County and Region fees are collected by the club for onward payment.

Renewing Club Membership
Renewal details will be sent out to members by the Membership Secretary each year when renewals are due. If you have any queries, please email them to membership@rivernookbowmen.co.uk.
